2021 was a massive year for disrupting war and waging peace

It was a huge year for Wage Peace.
This is what we did!
1/ We intervened into the Land Forces Weapons Expo. Every day for 6 days we made a significant disruption to the arms dealers. 39 brave people faced arrest. West Papuans were always out the front, their beautiful faces and music leading the way. 2/ We helped our community organise disruptive actions, circling around our four strategy areas, each aimed at stopping Australian assistance to Indonesian state- violence in West Papua. “Stop Training Killers” At the AFP in Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra. Led by brave West Papuan friends “Stop Arming Killers” We had a good go this year at the weapons dealers: Thales, Boeing, and Rheinmetall; in Melbourne, Bendigo and Brisbane. “The SAS is Training Kopassis” at Swan Island. War Crimes Start right there. Liberate Swan Island: Earth Care Not Warfare “Tear up the Lombok Treaty” DFAT pfff! What a wet rag. DFAT holds tight to the silencing of politicians and diplomats via the Lombok Treaty. 3/ We stood in solidarity with political prisoner Victor Yeimo and with the people in Tambrauw resisting militarisation and across Indonesia resisting the racism of special autonomy. 4/ Our community of active supporters challenged a school at Maitland that has the Defence Department and Boeing writing its curriculum. We shut down a teachers’ professional development event at Rheinmetall with the power of guitar and Bob Dylan. 5/ We assisted disruptions at Hanwha and Hechler and Koch in solidarity with friends in Korea and Germany. These companies are also actively selling to Indonesia. 6/ We know now where Indonesia gets its weapons and we have built a new website showing the world. Coming soon! |
The Memorial
In every single one of our actions, we told the stories of West Papuan people who have been killed by TNI, (the Indonesian army) or by Polri, (the police); or harmed by both, using state-violence together, against ordinary people. Our memorial has been seen across the Globe.

Four activists in Korea drew attention to West Papua for the first time while disrupting an arms expo. And in Germany and in Colombia.
We call on you to become active with us. There is an arms dealer starting up in every neighbourhood of Australian cities. Spend that money on Earth Care NOT Warfare!
We will show up to support YOU, where ever you are. We can help you find resources, easily. Here we are with the Castlemaine and Bendigo crew.

Please chip in to fund our fabulous weapons campaigner. If you can’t join us on the ground, chip in a monthly donation of $20. Donations uplift us. They helps us sense your love and support.
We couldn’t do this without you, our active supporters in Castlemaine, Bendigo, Melbourne, Northern NSW, Newcastle and Brisbane. Thank you!

We do this work with our partners – our friends organising persistently and bravely in the Climate Movement, against the rise of right wing forces, for the freedom of the truthteller Julian Assange, and for First Nations sovereignty here in this land. We salute you all!

We build our stories on truth-telling. At our core we commemorate the Frontier Wars, the first military action on this Land was against First Nations people. Their stories of resistance inspire us.
Join us in 2022. Chip in to show your love and solidarity.

Write and tell us what part of our work inspires you – and what you might want to join in 2022.
Best wishes in this new year. Stay safe.
Margie, Zelda, Adolf, Lil, Matt, Christine, Miriam and the team at Make West Papua Safe.
